Paula Abdul is angling to show off her signature fancy footwork as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Dancing host Tom Bergeron, who joined professional dance partner Julianne Hough on On-Air with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday morning, told Idol host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest that Paula approached him during last night’s first elimination round and approached him about appearing on the celebrity hit.

Tom says: “She said she’d really like to be part of season seven… She said, ‘I have no ballroom training; obviously I’ve been a choreographer… and I’d love to be part of it… I can do this.’ “She was serious and we had one of our top executives there and I said, ‘Paula Abdul wants to do season seven of Dancing With The Stars,’ and she said, ‘That’s a great idea.’”
