‘Passions’ Cancelled; DIRECTV Cancels ‘Passions’

Passions has been pulled-again. After being bumped from NBC from an extra hour of the Today Show last August, the kooky daytime dramedy made the trek over to DirectTV. Now DirecTV has pulled the plug on exciting storylines like the Pregnant She-Male Killer, the Ethan/Gwen/Theresa Love Triangle, and demon elves hopping around Harmony.

Soaps.com reports:

Last week a new rumor began circulating on message boards around the web that Passions will not be renewed by DirecTV for another season.

This rumor has been confirmed by numerous members of the cast on their official websites, including Eric Marstolf (Ethan Winthrop), who states ‘This rumor is indeed true at this point. Passions is scheduled to stop shooting March 2008.’ Tracey Ross (Eve Russell) addressed a similar message to a webmaster of a fan site.

Liza Huber (Gwen Hotchkiss) has also offered a statement on her website: ‘Hi Everyone, Yes, it is true that Passions will finish taping at the end of March 2008. We will start airing 3 days a week on DirecTV which should last through summer of 2008. It has been a wonderful ride (although Gwen has completely lost her mind!) and I want to thank all of you for your amazing support for Passions through the years!’

R.I.P Passions!
