Paris Hilton is distancing herself from a controversial ad that mockingly compares the heiress, and pop star Britney Spears, to Democratic senator Barack Obama.

Arizona senator John McCain is being criticized for a campaign ad comparing Barack Obama’s star status to that of Spears’ and Hiltons.’

“Miss Hilton was neither asked, nor did she give permission, for the use of her likeness in the ad, and has no further comment,” Paris’ rep said in a brief statement Thursday.
