Pamela Anderson Disses Janet Jackson: “Some People Are Just Greedy”
Pamela Anderson has a bone (not a chicken bone, of course) to pick with R&B/pop legend Janet Jackson.
The aging Baywatch vamp has given her two cents on Janet’s deal as the new face of Blackglama fur. The “Pleasure Principle” hitmaker made headlines earlier this month when she appeared in a series of saucy snaps — complete with high-end fur coats — promoting the popular brand’s Fall/Winter 2010-11 collection of “What Becomes a Legend Most?”
Jackson lapped up a lucrative contract with the fur firm, but has raised the ire of the animal-lovin’ zealots with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Anderson, who currently appears in PETA’s newest banned ad campaign, told Out Magazine: “ It’s disappointing. She has spoken out against fur before. I don’t know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it’s sad.”
And some people (Who shall remain nameless….) are just sleazy, but who are we to judge?
PETA rep Amanda Schinke was just as harsh: “Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognise that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat,” Schinke spat in a statement blasting Jackson.
“It’s amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn’t think that Janet was this desperate. Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognise that both occur in the production of a fur coat. For her part, Janet seems oblivious to the PETA/Pam furor and was upbeat about her new gig when she Tweeted about it last week: “I hope u enjoy my new photos for Blackgama. Love u!”

I love Pam and I love Janet. This isn’t no toss up but I’m taking Janet’s side on this one because I know Janet use to tend to the animals growing up and is a huge animal lover. The Blackglama campaign in Janet’s eyes was about finally get her respect due in this industry that she has been in for some time. Janet was 7 when she graced a stage and now she is in her mid 40′s. People have tried so hard to take away all that she has done and accomplished. This woman has donated money and time to so many causes. I know a few animal shelters have benefitted from her. I know Janet wasn’t trying to hurt anyone, especially animals. Pam who is a bombshell but has to realize that she should be the last person to throw any stones. There was rumors that she was broke and about to file for bankruptcy. I have to make this comment and it kills me but Pam most know that she was the best on Dancing With The Stars but American housewives had the last say. They find her a bit tasteless and too raunchy for all her Playboy and sextapes. Just remember Kate Gossenling was as stiff as a board and almost lasted longer than you because you might be mad a Janet for posing but America’s mad at you for being too forward with your sexuality. People need to leave Janet alone, she did it because she wanted to finally get the homage paid to her for being this amazing talent.
