Christina Ricci and her fiancé, comedian Owen Benjamin, have ended their engagement, sources tell PEOPLE Magazine.

“Owen has a birthday party this past Sunday, and everything seemed fine. Sometime after, they got into a fight and decided to reevaluate things. [Then] the engagement was off,” says an insider.

“They really are still close. They talk almost every day. It was a very mature decision and they both felt good about it. They’re definitely still friends,” another informant adds.

The Mermaids child star met Owen on the set of All’s Faire In Love in 2008. They got engaged in March.

Friends say the couple’s decision to split was mutual and they remain close friends.
