Organization Of Chinese Americans Blasts Miley Cyrus Racist Photo Apology
Miley Cyrus needs to grab a chair and sit her butt down because the Organization of Chinese Americans are so not buying her half-hearted “apology” for a controversial photo they believe shows the 16-year-old Disney starlet and a group of teeners poking fun at Asians.
On Thursday, Miley issued a statement on her official web site stating that she was sorry that some people misinterpreted her “goofy faces.” She did not, however, apologize for making the face in the first place.
“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces!” television’s Hannah Montana wrote. “Well, I’m sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!”
“The picture is offensive and now this statement is inadequate,” George Wu, Executive Director of the OCA, an Asian-American equality group said on Friday. “That’s not enough. It’s not a real apology. We’re not backing down without a fuller apology.”
