Oprah Winfrey is vying for the world’s first interview with Jaycee Dugard, the now-29-year-old woman who was held captive after being abducted off a street in Lake Tahoe 18 years.

“I want that interview,” Winfrey told The Insider Wednesday. “Like everyone else in this business I have my people working on that. It’s the first time I have ever called up my producers and said, ‘Are we on this story? Because I want that interview!’”

Dugard, the 11, was snatched from a bus stop in 1991. Last month, the woman turned up at a California police station and revealed her story. A convicted sex offender and his wife have been charged with kidnapping.
