On Wednesday, the New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher column reported a celebrity blackball on the Dr. Phil Show. The National Enquirer now claims the reigning Queen of Talk has given the TV doc the boot over his attention-whorish handling of Britney Spears’ Meltdown two weeks ago. This supposedly means that Oprah plans to play Harpo Productions affiliation with the Dr. Phil Show, meaning Phil will have to get a new producer. “Oprah is furious. She expected Phil to apologize before the situation got out of hand. Instead he used the spotlight to tout his struggling talk show….He betrayed her trust.”

The tabloid claims Oprah will give Phil his walking papers from Harpo in an upcoming face-to-face meeting.

An Enquirer mole says:

“This is classic Phil-he’s so driven by ratings….He was driven by promotion for his talk show more than by a heartfelt effort to help Britney Spears.”

“Oprah was livid. He should have thrown himself on his sword and said he should have never spoken to the media in the first place….He should have told Britney’s family from the very outset that he was the wrong guy to get involved in this.”
