Yesterday, Jessica Simpson cryptically announced plans to perform a live concert for American troops in Kuwait next month. It has now been confirmed that Jess will be performing in the nation as part of Operation MySpace, dubbed “an exclusive concert for American troops live from the Middle East.” (Visit Operation Myspace Here) And it seems Jess will be in good company, other performers will the Pussycat Dolls, Disturbed, Filter, DJ Z-Trip, and comedian Carlos Mencia.

Its 2008 and the world has changed but our troops still need our support. MySpace in conjunction with AEG, Armed Forces Entertainment and America Supports You is reinventing the USO shows of old to support our troops abroad.

“We’re so excited to be performing for the troops and supporting our Armed Forces overseas. They’d better get ready…the desert’s about to get a lot hotter!” the Pussycat Dolls said in a statement.

Jessica says: It’s truly an honor to perform for the troops. Through Operation MySpace, I get to serve my country by doing what I love to do in front of thousands of brave men in uniform. It’s every girl’s dream.

The concert will be webcast live on March 10th at 11 a.m PT/ 2 p.m. ET. An one-hour edited version of the concert will air on the FX Network on Aprik 12th.

Pretty good lineup for very good cause, definitely worth tuning in.
