Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry have selected a name for their new son.
Berry gave birth Saturday at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. The stars have decided on Maceo Robert Martinez as a moniker for the bundle of joy, E! News sources say. The name was reportedly chosen in honor of the French-born Olivier’s Spanish roots.
“Olivier wanted to give a nod to his Spanish roots. They picked the name a while ago, they love it.”
This is the first child for the newlyweds, who wed July 13 in an intimate ceremony outside Paris. Halle, 47, shares a five-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.
Halle credits Nahla’s obsession with being a big sister with the “miracle” pregnancy.
“She now has supreme knowing that faith is real. That you can wish for something and you can want for something and make that manifest. So it’s been a lovely way to teach her about the power of prayer, and now that she’s made a baby come, I tell her all the time, ‘Think of what you can do!'”
Now that Halle has given birth, it’s time to see how fast she can shed the baby weight. The Oscar winner is scheduled to star in CBS’ Summer 2014 drama Extant, produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. The series will see Halle playing an astronaut struggling to return to normalcy on Earth after a year-long solo mission in space.
