OK! Magazine is coming underfire from advertisers and the entertainment world for publishing what it claims to be the last ever photograph of late pop superstar Michael Jackson on its cover.

The tawdry tabloid image of the singer being rushed into UCLA Medical Center from an ambulance was purchased for approximately $500,000 (£305,000) and appears on the magazine’s “Official Tribute Issue,” arriving on newsstands Wednesday.

“It’s a photo that captures the surprise and the upset and the moment of this breaking news story. I hope the cover will provoke readers,” OK! editorial director Sarah Ivens said in defense of the magazine’s decision to run the image. “It celebrated the man, but it also does expose that he was an eccentric character who lived a very controversial life.”

There are no words…

Hip-hop moguls Diddy and Jay-Z are said to be so furious over the publication of the death photo, “they’re organizing a boycott” against OK!, The NY Post is reporting.

When I seen the front cover of OK magazine today I was very upset and angry when I realised it was in fact a photo of Michael Jackson on the night he died.

I think the people at OK Magazine have proven themselves to be an utter disgrace with no morals. All they care about is selling their magazines, regardless of the hurt it causes to his children, family and many others. It is hugely disrespectful to Michael Jackson.

A fantastic artist & human, who will be greatly missed and remembered. xx RIP

I just feel That even though Michael was always in the public eye as Being the “King Of Pop” and our history “icon” The “OK” Magazine should have not released His LAST PICTURE!! That is not a picture you want to remember Your “ICON” And for what just to make Money Off of it, It shows No Respect In Respecting An Amazing Entertainer! giving fact all the issues surrounding MJ, If you look passed it All His Music Was Legendary .

I seen the cover of that magazine on display in a shop earlier and was genuinely shocked and embarrased that a UK-based publication would stoop so low.

This is an absolute disgrace and should be boycotted by everyone with an ounce of respect for the dead, regardless of their personal opinion on MJ.

Thank you popcrunch for not stooping to the level of OK magazine by not showing that terrible picture here. So many other magazines that are slamming OK are no better themselves because they have reproduced the image.
How low can OK go?, you can’t get much lower than what they have done, publishing a photo of Michael’s body without a care in the world how it would make his family, friends and fans feel. All they wanted was the money from their boosted sales. They should hang their heads in shame.

You people are the most. First of all, when Princess Diana died although media houses said that they would not publish any photos of her death theyeventually did. The same applies to Michael. I know, as a fan, I search the internet sites looking for any photo that I could find of Michael being whisked away from in the ambulance. When I heard that OK had obtained such photos my search was over. I am grateful to OK for publishing it. To the appauled fans, GET OVER IT. I am sure you bought the magazine to see too.

I think that if you put the KING OF POP’s picture when he was dead is really wrong because if died we won’t put your dead picture on the internet. Just because you put his dead picture on the internet it doesnt mean that you are going to be real famous dummys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LONG LIVE THE KING

I am also in the agreement with many others here that OK! magazine’s decision to publish the front cover with dying Michael Jackson. I found it disturbing (no disrespect to Michael), but it did not depict a positive image from such an icon as the King of Pop should. I’m sure if alive he would’ve been appalled to see it himself, and would be terribly upset to see fans and people who weren’t immediate fans of his upset by his last image.

I grew up watching MJ evolve as a singer, entertainer and watching the many different faces he put on. He was, He IS forever my KING OF POP! All you out there who seek to destroy a true humanitarian should be ashamed of yourselves!! All those who believe he would hurt children are brainless idiots! all it takes is an actor who can cry at will and accuse Michael of something he didnt do and then make money off him! How many of you out there are like that ? How many people seek to make money off Michael ? OK magazine is apparently one of them. Shame shame shame on you !! Long line MY KING !!
