National Enquirer claiming Obama affair

That bastion of journalistic integrity the National Enquirer is at it again, claiming this time that they have evidence that Barack Obama has been having an affair with former campaign aide Vera Baker.

The evidence the National Enquirer presents that Obama is cheating doesn’t seem all that compelling (a limo driver claims he took Baker to a hotel where Obama was staying in 2004), but the Enquirer has reports that right wing operatives have offered $1 million to anyone who can come through with evidence that Obama has cheated on his wife.

The Enquirer has gotten some high profile stories right in recent years (most notably John Edwards and his affair), but I’d still hold off on thinking there’s anything to a Barack Obama cheating scandal. This is a supermarket tabloid saying something might have happened six years ago; we’re going to need something a little more credible.
