It’s a good thing Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are expecting a son and a daughter next month. After making a successful run for the title of “World’s Longest Pregnancy” (Seriously, when are those buns coming out of that oven, Woman?!), the songbird isn’t sure she’s got what it takes to spend another nine month cycle with bloated ankles and bad maternity dresses.
The expectant mother took Life & Style Magazine on a tour of the elegantly-designed nursery where her babies will soon sleep in a photospread that will appear on the pages of this week’s issue. Carey contends that it would require “a much stronger person” than her to go through pregnancy again, adding that she’s already “ready to be done.”
An extended vacation from heels will do that to a diva.
The singer said carrying multiple babies “can be difficult,” but that “it’s all worth it.”
Mariah worked with interior designers to create a room for her son and daughter that she hopes celebrates their individuality while also incorporating some of her own taste.
“I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cosy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualised to celebrate the twins as separate entities. The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favorites, ‘Underneath the Stars’ and ‘Close My Eyes,'” she explains.
“Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolizes wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled.”
Nick and Mariah’s twins are due later this spring.
