Nicole Richie’s 2005 coming-of-age novel The Truth About Diamonds is being developed into television series.

And while it’s unlikely the celebutante will star on the show, loosely based on her own life, Nicole says she will serve as an executive producer once the project splashes onto the small screen.

“I would definitely produce and definitely be in the show,” the socialite told E! News exclusively on Thursday.

The Truth About Diamonds chronicles the adventures of spoiled socialite Chloe Parker, the adopted daughter of a rock musician, through her ill-fated relationships with booze, drugs, and the Hollywood party scene. Ah! The stuff trashy TV is made of-which means the ratings’ll be through the roof.

Has anyone ever read this novel? Do you think the material will translate to television well?

it will have to be an adult show to translate on TV because it a lot of drugs and night live and some domestic violence too.

but i guess that could just do it ala gossip girl style.
    oh this is so exciting!!!!!!!!
