Don’t you just heart Twitter? Can you think of a more convenient way to discover chuckle-worthy horrors from the early years of our favorite celebrities?

Like this one for instance…

Did you know that Nicole Richie was once part of a rap group?

The reality TV star recently confessed that she and two of her friends formed a hip-hop act called Caution back in grade school.

Writing on her Twitter page Wednesday, Nicole wrote: “When I was 10 years old, I was in an all girl hip-hop/rap group. (oh we’re just getting started). Our name? get ready… CAUTION! It was me and my 2 girlfriends; but they were 13 so they made me audition. I was soooo excited when I got in! All I can think of is the 3 of us going up to my mom with a straight face and singing her our first song. We were dead serious.”

The girls were so convinced they were going to be the next Salt N’ Pepa, they asked Nicole’s mom Brenda to find them a manager.

“My poor mom had to sit there with a straight face and watch us perform and we asked her to find us a manager (sic).”

Wonder if Nic’s childhood friend Paris Hilton was in that group?

At 27, the soon-to-be mommy again can still recall the lyrics to one of their songs.

“I even remember part of our rap. I’m getting chills of embarrassment even typing this. The rap lyrics I remember were: ‘Caution! Walking down the street/You better watch out, and step to the beat/Playing our music from town to town/Rockin’ and Rollin’ we’re gonna get down!’”

Needless to say, Caution never quite managed to set the hip-hop world on fire. That reminds me of the time in fourth grade when my friends and I tried to start our on clothing line, inspired by our mutual love of all things Lisa Frank …. It’s a long story.
