Star Magazine snitches are screaming trouble in paradise for expectant parents Joel Madden and Nicole Richie. The couple are reportedly feuding over Joel’s plans for a move to the Big Apple while born and bred California girl Nicole wants to remain in the City of Angels.

‘Nicole hates New York-always has and always will,’ says a friend of the couple. ‘She’s a big L.A girl. She loves the sun, driving and her family. She wouldn’t get that in New York, where the winter is long, stars have to use drivers to get around, and she has no relatives.

But life in the City That Never Sleeps has always been a dream for Nic’s baby daddy to be, says the insider.

‘It’s always been his dream to have a loft in New York City.’

The Good Charlotte rocker is currently checking out pads in trendy Tribeca and Gramercy Park.

‘This has been a major wake-up call for her. She’s five months pregnant and just learning about this other side of Joel-he’s extremely stubborn when it comes to what he truly cares about,’ dishes the snitch.

‘As he continues the search for his perfect home, Nicole has made it very clear that if he buys something, she’ll stay in a hotel and won’t spend time there…..It’s causing major tension, there’s definitely trouble in paradise!’
