Nickelodeon Acquires Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen Library Of TV Series, Movies, Specials

Nickelodeon may not be the network with the greatest original programming anymore, but they could receive a rating boost with their latest pickup. The network just acquired much of the library from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s early career and will soon begin airing them.

Full House was clearly their most famous work, but they were involved in a number of movies as teens and starred in other TV shows as well. So Little Time is a comedy series and will be the first to air on Nickelodeon, first airing from 2001-2002.

There was finally a confirmation involving the Full House reunion, which is now set to air on Netflix and was confirmed by John Stamos, or Uncle Jesse as he is known to most. However, there is no word on an involvement involving the twins yet and it is not likely since they have not acted together in many years.

Nickelodeon was a big deal back in the 90’s when the Olsen twins were popular as actresses with shows such as Hey Arnold!, Rocket Power, and Rocko’s Modern Life. It seems that the network may be trying to capitalize on that fan base and hope to bring back some viewers for the nostalgia aspect.

Unfortunately for the diehard fans of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s, not every series and movie of theirs is included in the newly acquired library by Nickelodeon.

Some notable exceptions from the list are the show Two Of A Kind and the movies Switching Goals, Passport To Paris, Billboard Dad, and who could forget the holiday TV movie that came out when they were only six, To Grandmother’s House We Go?

The full list of acquired Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen titles:

Series: The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley (10 episodes); You’re Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley’s (10 episodes); So Little Time (26 episodes); and Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action! (26 episodes

TV movies: Mary?Kate & Ashley’s Fashion Forward; Our Lips Are Sealed; Winning London; Holiday in the Sun; When in Rome; Getting There: Sweet 16 and Licensed to Drive; and The Challenge.

Nickelodeon’s first Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen title to debut, So Little Time, will air on Monday, April 27 at 7:30 PM, with episodes airing each weekday. The rest of the library will continue to roll out over the next year.
