Is Nick Zano making a move to TV’s hottest complex?

A source close to The CW primetime soap tells Entertainment Weekly that the actor is in chats to join the low-rated drama. Nick, who is currently masquerading as Courteney Cox’s toyboy love interest on the ABC comedy Cougar Town, could serve as a potential replacement for Colin Egglesfield’s character, Auggie, who is being written out of the show next month.

Nick will likely play an MD, if he reaches a deal with the network.

“He will move into the building,” Executive Producer Todd Slavkin told EW. “He doesn’t take life very seriously. Medicine can be fun as well as serious to him, and he ends up lightening up Lauren.”

Nick Zano — who has been romantically-linked to Kristin Cavallari and Haylie Duff — appeared opposite Jennie Garth and Amanda Bynes on The WB comedy What I Like About You from 2002-2006.
