I know I'm really late re-reading this, but for anyone who might still be out there reading this stuff..
In all seriousness, those of you who are complaining if you are that concerned about the new Dora, why don't you just not let your kid watch the show, it's very simple, sure everyone is entitled to an opinion, but as long as you actually parent your kid, instead of sitting them in front of the TV for hours, then you can control what the kid watches.... You're parenting style is up to you.... but if you are going to complain..... Take the kid the park, or to play outside instead of having the tv on in the first place, As far as how she's dressed, she dresses a lot like my 7 yr. if anyone has noticed, leggings are back in style.. . .

And my two cents- For those who are calling her names and whining about the nature of her look, try using spell check before you post, it's a lot more credible, if you show some intelligence in the what you type.. . .

I like the new Dora! She looks playful and nice. I was skeptical about the new Dora about her looking like a slut but she looks..."Tweenish" but still like Dora...I'm looking forward to seeing the new Dora but I still would like to see the old Dora and they should keep the old Dora the Explorer on aire.

Why is this such a big deal? I have 2 five year olds and a one year old all girls and I could care less if they like the new Dora or not. I am not a strict parent, but they are not allowed to play with BRATZ which I think are slutty and inappropriate...so what her hair is longer and she is wearing normal clothes and her lips are pink, at least she doesn't have DSL's like the BRATZ jeez people lighten up. I think she is adorable and looks just like one of my girls.

The new Dora is not a proper role model; the new form of a children educational character Dora has been transform into a teenage Dora who wears lipstick and have a more grown women look to her appearance; So the audience that is in tune to Dora is targets to inappropriate image of what they want to resemble.
However I feel yes she a bit adult looking but parents have to control the situation. Dora is not supposed to be a role model she helps children learn things in a fun way. It the parents job to monitor how the child absorbs the new Dora. The makers of Dora wanted make a older Dora to grab children attention that felt they maybe too old to watch the younger Dora that’s their job, who doesn’t know sex sell it sad that this triggers children but if you install proper parenting in your child there no room for any thing else; parents have to install the right foundation in to there children. Dora is no different then Barbie who did everything but get married Barbie had trips a baby with ken now what does that say? There was no Barbie getting married so that is also sending a bad message to our children. We as parents have to dissect what the children are not able to. Every child becomes adults so don’t over protect them and hide everything from them, teach them the right way they wont looked to others because everything has been address at home Children’s real role model should be some one they can actually talk to a real human being that can guide them in there everyday life, and there maybe a time when a child may want to dress up like one of the character which fine that’s what Halloween is for. Parents have to maintain there children because if we leave them in the hands of television world they will be lost forever. Teach your child why they should be themselves and not a character on television. Install values in the child because if not it they will go from wanting to belike Dora to wanting to be like the popular girl in school. Teach your child why it important to be themselves and explain to them they don’t have to dress or look like somebody else to be special. Children have to be taught that they are special no matter who they are. This is something that is very vital for a child to understand and will take the child way further than Dora.
