The Smurfs are the beloved ’80s cartoon classic getting the big screen treatment.

On Aug. 3, those lovable blue creatures that kept you in stitches when you were still knee-high to a grasshopper swap their magical forest in favor of The Big Apple. Raja Gosnell, whose credits include Home Alone 3 and Scooby Doo, steps behind the camera for the 3D feature, which features an all-star cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, Hank Azaria, Anton Yelchin, Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, and Alan Cumming.

Here’s the Synopsis: “When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.”
