New Mexico Newspaper Prints Walter White Obituary
Hilarious! An Albuquerque newspaper printed a fake obituary for Breaking Bad’s Walter White.
So unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, you know that (SPOILER ALERT!) White perished during the final moments of Sunday’s Breaking Bad series finale. For readers of The Albuquerque Journal, however, the death of the fictional character (played by Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston) became a very real obituary in the local newspaper. Members of the Facebook fan group “The Unofficial Breaking Bad Fan Tour” paid for the faux obit, published Friday.
The tongue-in-cheek obituary reads”
“White, Walter, aka ‘Heisenberg,’ 52, of Albuquerque, died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, and a gunshot wound. A co-founder of Gray Matter, White was a research chemist who taught high school chemistry and later founded a meth manufacturing empire. He is survived by his wife, Skyler Lambert; son Walter “Flynn” Jr.; and daughter Holly. A private memorial was held by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a drug abuse prevention charity of your choice. He will be greatly missed.”
