Nelson Mandela has banned Naomi Campbell from attending his 90th birthday celebration in London’s Hyde Park this weekend. The former South African president, an international icon for fighting injustice, was taken aback by the supermodel’s recent run-in with the law aboard a British Airways flight to Los Angeles.

“The man himself intervened and she was pulled off the list. He was disappointed with her recent arrest — particularly as she was wearing a 46664 baseball cap at the time,” a spy told the British press on Wednesday. (46664 was Mandela’s prison number during his twenty-seven years of incarceration.)

Naomi’s spokeswoman told the Daily Mail: “Naomi had never planned to go to the concert but she has been invited as a guest to his dinner tonight.”
