The Miami Heat’s Shaq O’Neal conducted a “citizen’s arrest” after the Miami Beach Police Department reserve officer, followed a driver who reportedly crashed into the NBA center’s Cadillac Escalade and then tried to flee the scene.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday. The Heat had just returned home from a Saturday game in Chicago. Shaq was helping a team security official unload luggage outside of the bodyguard’s home in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood when the Cadillac was swiped.

Shaq and his bodyguard Jerome Crawford followed the driver, who has been identified as eighteen year-old Emmnueo Cibrin of Tampa, for approximately five minutes. The duo finally caught up with a teen when he stopped near a gas station

Shaq approached the car and summoned a nearby police officer.
