okay, how does anyone in the media know for sure if she’s having a c-section or not, because they both seem to really wanna keep their baby matters very private and personal.

I agree with Dave. Celebs have the money to do what most women wish they could and that’s have a tummy tuck post c-section. They actually have two sepperate small tucks; one after birth and one a few weeks later once the muscle wall begins to reconnect. Doesn’t it seem strange that almost every celeb losses what baby fat they gain and retains a flat stomach even though it is medically more likely to develope scar tissue or excess skin from the baby? Wish everyone had a personal surgeon/trainer/dietician and the money to cover it all up to seem like it’s normal.

Agreed. I heard about scheduled c-sections a couple years ago, and I was thank god, what a brilliant idea. Sure, it’s not natural, but nothing is these days. Technology makes our lives easier, and for me, I think it will be far easier to know to the hour when I should be at the hospital, and so will my family. You know, it’s not “natural” to have a pacemaker implanted after a heart attack either, the natural method would actually be dying. So its all how you look at things, people have a lot more choices these days. And they have the right to that choice without having women who think they are the best mothers in the world just because they shot their little brats out the natural way criticizing that choice.

Typical. Self centered celebrity types make me gag. She actually is choosing SURGERY (and that’s what it is) over a natural birth?? Give me a freaking break. Personally I bet she wants a c-section so she doesn’t have to do any real “mom” work for a while after the baby is born.

I’m not going to pretend to know a whole bunch of facts and figures about bringing children into this world, but opting for a c-section is nothing new. Has no one seen “A Baby Story” on TLC? More than half of the women opt for a c-section on this show. Are they all “babies” and “evil” people because of it? No. Ashlee Simpson is going to have a baby, and it’s *her* baby and body and she should be able to deliver any way she pleases without having a wave of criticism come at her.

She is beautiful and I wish her all the happiness in the world.

the only thing these self-centered women are afraind of are stretched out vaginas….the risks involved with a c-section over natural birth should outweigh their vanity

Well, my opinion of her just went in the toilet. I’ve had 3 c-sections and am now opting for homebirth just because of all the stupid VBAC “bans” (which they can’t legally do anyway). I did have 12 hours of natural labor before my first c-section and SURPRISE, I’m still here and sane enough to tell about it. It can’t be all bad if I went on to have more kids after that.

normaly, a doctor would only advise a c-section when the mother is a carrier of a STD. ashley seems like a very good candidate for that situation.

After 2 nature births and one C-section..Ashley….your crazy. The recovery from the C-section was alot more painful than natural childbirth. I was forced to have a C-section. Anyone who chooses one is a fool.
