A heavily-pregnant Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is so petrified of natural childbirth, she’s already opted for a scheduled C-section.

The 24 year-old songstress is expecting her first daughter with husband Pete Wentz in October, according to reports.

Ashlee has been plagued by nightmares after Lamaze classes freaked her out about natural labor.

“Ashlee planned to go through a natural childbirth, but the classes changed her mind,” says a pal.

Give me freakin’ break. Millions of women give birth every day naturally and do it just fine. If there is no sound, medical reason for a c-section, then you shouldn’t have one. You become a surgical patient as well as a post-partum patient and this carries far more serious risks. If you think pushing is scary, try dying from amniotic fluid embolism, a blood clot or recovering from a post-op infection. Worse than dying from these would be sustaining a stroke and then you become the one that receives constant care the rest of your life and never be able to enjoy your new family. Start your Kegel exercises now and your precious little cooter will return to its shape. The human body has a marvelous way of healing itself. As the baby is pushed out, the change in pressure forces the fluid out of the lungs and opens them up. They don’t gurgle, choke and snotter as much the next few days. Grow up Ashley, you’re a mother now and it’s not about you anymore. “Put your big girl panties on an deal with it.” Besides, you’ll be up and around a whole lot faster to be able to enjoy your baby without with pain of a deep and invasive surgical incision. Get the epidural.

OMG what a loser! Natural childbirth is SAFER, statistically than c-section. There is less risk of hemmorage and less risk to the baby especially of anesthesia accidents. Not only that but the endorphins after childbirth are proven to be more powerful than morphine. That’s why so many women say they “forgot” about the pain right after, it’s the hormones released with the expulsion of the placenta. I did it with my 2 sons without drugs and I’m the biggest wimp in the WORLD! My recovery time? NONE – I was up and walking around within minutes (but I was tired though). Yes it was painful, but women are MADE to give birth, not to be cut open and given surgery on a whim. If there were a medical reason to have a c-section then go for it but why subject your body and your baby to something like that, when according to statistics 94% of women can naturally deliver their babies with no intervention? One little piece of advice Ashlee, when you’re a mom you have to make sacrifices for your baby so why not at least ATTEMPT to do the best thing for it.

Grow up for God’s sake!!! What a sickening article. I didn’t realize you can “opt” for a c-section. She’s a baby having a baby. Life is a gift, and she is lucky she is blessed with this pregnancy.

i know why shes getting this done celebs who do optional csections do it to schedule their tummy tucks right afterwards. google it if you don’t believe.

OH WAH. Statistically 94% of women can successfully deliver their babies without any intervention. Ashlee is a moron. She got pregnant for the publicity and now just wants to skip to the income-producing infant pics. NORMAL childbirth is LESS risky than c-section. Less risk of a hemmorage, less risk of uterine rupture with subsequent pregnancies, and no risk of anesthesia accidents or other more severe complications. I gave birth to my 2 sons without any drugs and it wasn’t fun for 3 hours but I’d take 3 hours of hell and then a lifetime of heaven as opposed to a week of hell recovering from major abdominal surgery any day. Do what’s best for your body and your baby Ashlee, that’s part of being a mom.
PS these celebs are so friggin’ selfish and childish, it’s truly amazing.

A$$lee just doesn’t want her snatch to be a gaping crevasse, that’s what is “freaking her out”–not any Lamaze class or anything else. She’s afraid she’ll lose little Petey to a “tighter” fit . . . men are all the same, and they’ll go find sluts wherever they can.

After 2 nature births and one C-section..Ashley….your crazy. The recovery from the C-section was alot more painful than natural childbirth. I was forced to have a C-section. Anyone who chooses one is a fool.

normaly, a doctor would only advise a c-section when the mother is a carrier of a STD. ashley seems like a very good candidate for that situation.

since when can you opt for a c section? these celebrities make me sick! guess what, you got knocked up, so go through the pain like every other mother in the world.

Well, my opinion of her just went in the toilet. I’ve had 3 c-sections and am now opting for homebirth just because of all the stupid VBAC “bans” (which they can’t legally do anyway). I did have 12 hours of natural labor before my first c-section and SURPRISE, I’m still here and sane enough to tell about it. It can’t be all bad if I went on to have more kids after that.

the only thing these self-centered women are afraind of are stretched out vaginas….the risks involved with a c-section over natural birth should outweigh their vanity

I’m not going to pretend to know a whole bunch of facts and figures about bringing children into this world, but opting for a c-section is nothing new. Has no one seen “A Baby Story” on TLC? More than half of the women opt for a c-section on this show. Are they all “babies” and “evil” people because of it? No. Ashlee Simpson is going to have a baby, and it’s *her* baby and body and she should be able to deliver any way she pleases without having a wave of criticism come at her.

She is beautiful and I wish her all the happiness in the world.

Typical. Self centered celebrity types make me gag. She actually is choosing SURGERY (and that’s what it is) over a natural birth?? Give me a freaking break. Personally I bet she wants a c-section so she doesn’t have to do any real “mom” work for a while after the baby is born.

Agreed. I heard about scheduled c-sections a couple years ago, and I was thank god, what a brilliant idea. Sure, it’s not natural, but nothing is these days. Technology makes our lives easier, and for me, I think it will be far easier to know to the hour when I should be at the hospital, and so will my family. You know, it’s not “natural” to have a pacemaker implanted after a heart attack either, the natural method would actually be dying. So its all how you look at things, people have a lot more choices these days. And they have the right to that choice without having women who think they are the best mothers in the world just because they shot their little brats out the natural way criticizing that choice.

I agree with Dave. Celebs have the money to do what most women wish they could and that’s have a tummy tuck post c-section. They actually have two sepperate small tucks; one after birth and one a few weeks later once the muscle wall begins to reconnect. Doesn’t it seem strange that almost every celeb losses what baby fat they gain and retains a flat stomach even though it is medically more likely to develope scar tissue or excess skin from the baby? Wish everyone had a personal surgeon/trainer/dietician and the money to cover it all up to seem like it’s normal.

okay, how does anyone in the media know for sure if she’s having a c-section or not, because they both seem to really wanna keep their baby matters very private and personal.

What do you think?
