The family of Broadway actress Natasha Richardson made the heartbreaking decision to remove the brain dead star from life support this afternoon.

Mom Vanessa Redgrave, aunt Lynn Redgrave, sister Joely Richardson, ex-husband Robert Fox, husband Liam Neeson and her two children are still keeping a sad vigil by the Tony Award winner’s bedside at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, a source told the New York Post on Wednesday.

On Monday, the 45-year-old Nell star, a member of Britain’s legendary Redgrave acting family, suffered a severe injury to her head after taking a fall during skiing lessons on the bunny slope at the Mont Tremblant Resort, about 80 miles northwest of Montreal.

Natasha was not wearing a ski helmet at the time of the accident.

Natasha Richardson has been married to Irish actor Liam Neeson since 1994. They have two sons.

As if Wednesdays aren’t depressing enough….How sad.
