Natalie Cole underwent a kidney transplant on Monday.

A rep for the singer says the 59-year-old music icon is resting comfortably following her surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

“The kidney came from a deceased organ donor through the regional organ procurement agency, One Legacy,” her rep said in a statement.

The Grammy-winning singer’s doctors have advised her to postpone her summer tour dates while she recuperates for the next three to four months

In 2008, Natalie revealed that she had been diagnosed with hepatitis C, a disease she likely contracted during her time as an IV drug user more than 30 years ago.
