Music legend Natalie Cole has blasted Grammy organizers for handing rehab-resistent crack addict Amy Winehouse five statues at Sunday night’s ceremony. A former cocaine addict herself, Natalie says Grammy voters were wrong to hand out prizes to such a bad role model.

“I think she has a great talent, but I don’t agree with the Grammys giving her those nods. I think it sends the wrong message, that even in the midst of her stupor of drugs she can get nominated for all these awards. It’s a slap in the face to musicians and artists who work very hard that they turn around and give it to someone who really obviously doesn’t have a grasp of what she has. I’ve been in this business over 25 years and I sacrificed five years of my own life on drugs and almost lost my life because of it. So I take great offense to almost see someone getting glory out of being in the position that they’re in - she needs to get her life together and embrace her craft.”

People deal with life hurts and pains differently…this girl obviously has a problem and is trying to deal with her issue and Natalie Cole of all people should understand that! Amy’s musical gift is what it is drugs or not! to somehow minimize her musical accomplishments because she has personal issues is absolutely rediculous! Lets hope that this will motivate her to get well soon! get over yourself Natalie! Funny, I dont remember you having the same opinion of Whitney Houston in a radio interview with Stave Harvey when that question came up! In fact, you were down right sympothetic! Tell me Natalie….what is the difference?
