Nude Alicia Silverstone PETA Ad

September 18th, 2007 · 72 Comments · Tagged as PETA

Alicia Silverstone has taken off her clothes in a new PETA ad campaign.

“I am Alicia Silverstone, and I’m a vegetarian,” reads the print ad. Alicia says the same words in the video rendition of the ad, also noting that “there’s nothing in the world that’s changed me as much as this. I feel so much better and have so much more energy.”

The PETA-Silverstone campaign will air on Food Network, Lifetime and E! in Houston before expanding nationwide.

  • Donna // Sep 20, 2007 at 5:50 pm

Absolutely nothing wrong with this ad; frightening and disgusting that Americans don’t GET IT that animal cruelty is shameful and wrong in the food industry. I stumbled upon PETA’s CHEW THIS extended version after seeing Alicia’s ad onyoutube. Brave principled Alicia. Thank you.

  • bd // Sep 20, 2007 at 6:01 pm

I thought this ad was a very clever. PETA’s ad got my attention, kept my attention, and had a clear message. I didn’t find anything offensive about the ad.

I read that Houston TX has banned the ad. One has to question the city’s motive… could it be the cattle beef lobbyist?

    RGR HMFIC -

Poor Roger, or Ranger or whatever pathetic and vile goat-herder that you’re stuck to be the rest of your unnatural born life…
Alicia Silverstone possesses more beauty in just a momentary sparkle of one of her eyes than you’ll ever know or appreciate in all of your days since your mother squatted behind that garbage bin and shat you into existence.

Call your mama… maybe that’s your problem, you need to get laid by the only woman that will let you get that intimate with her.

The logic: It’s immoral when humans eat animals. Humans are ordinary animals. Animals eat each other. Therefore it’s immoral for animals to eat each other. If we keep lions from eating gazelles, they will die, which would be killing animals, an immoral act. What’s the logic?

  • zanegreywolf // Sep 20, 2007 at 9:43 pm

I too am a big supporter of P.E.T.A., People Eating Tasty Animals. If eating them is so wrong then why do they taste good and are good for us?!

  • Andy // Sep 20, 2007 at 10:25 pm

She looks good enough to eat.

  • Ron Powell // Sep 20, 2007 at 11:04 pm

Bill Walton an ex-NBA player was a vegetarian when he played with the Portland Trailblazers. He had an injury early in his career to a bone in his foot and it wouldn’t heal. He was eventually traded to San Diego and a doctor there put him on a meat diet and within a short time the injury healed. The protein from meat is different than vegetable protein. Plants are living things too, cut the bark of a tree and it bleeds sap, Don’t feed or water a plant and it wilts and dies. So maybe we should protest the vegetarians. Incidentally, what does being naked have to do with not eating meat?

  • rich // Sep 21, 2007 at 12:22 am

If animals were not suspose to be eaten then why are they made out of Meat? I agree with not torturing them before you kill them but other then that they do taste good.

Can’t wait to have some short back ribs tonight, and put my order in for a half cow.

On the ad Alicia Silverstone is hot!

  • Brianan // Sep 21, 2007 at 6:05 am

who’s she kidding she doesn’t eat meat. I heard she likes the sausage. Anyway I’d eat her like a rack of ribs - YUMMY!

  • Anti-Peta // Sep 21, 2007 at 7:02 am

mmmmmm, meat. As mentioned before on this page, the protein from meat is different than the protein from vegetables. BOTH are important for HUMAN health. Also as previously mentioned, what’s her doing naked have to do w/the morons from PETA? They kill animals and just throw them in dumpsters so what’s the difference? At least I EAT what I kill.

  • Mister G // Sep 21, 2007 at 7:07 am

Nice commercial ad but the fact remains that vegans—on the whole—are typcially the sickest people you will run across, particularly during the winter time. Their immune systems are weakened due to diminished protein in their diet and seem to be more susceptible to heavy colds and chest and nasal congestion during the colder months of the year. An all-veggies-all-the-time diet is just as unhealthy as those who chow down at McDonalds 5 - 6 times a week. A balance diet is still the best diet to be followed.

  • J // Sep 21, 2007 at 7:40 am

Vegetarianism isn’t gay you moron…..it’s a choice just like you choose to eat anything that moves.
The difference is that we vegetarians don’t cause animal suffering with our lifestyle choice.

  • JD // Sep 21, 2007 at 7:52 am

I want to eat a happy meal off her silky skin.

BTW, I saw her in Nobu this Summer…..with animal flesh on her plate. Don’t remember seeing her actually eat it. Perhaps she was simply trying to prevent someone else from ordering that particular item.

Vegetarians might reconsider if they saw how badly carrot is treated.

  • Derek // Sep 21, 2007 at 8:49 am

First of all, i have nothing against vegetarians or vegans. However, i’m sick of all these PETA assholes that sit there and preach to people who eat meat. IT’S OUR DAMN CHOICE! For all i know all the animal cruelty videos that peta puts out could have been acted out by peta themselves. So what if I enjoy eating a steak or a burger, It’s my decision to make. If you want to be a vegan, fine. But don’t fuckin preach to anyone that is not, and do not try to convince me to go vegan or i’ll throw a raw package of burger at you and shank you in the knees, because i’m sick of being the bad guy for something as stupid as what i eat.

One has to admit, PETA certainly picked the right spokesperson for the job. A picture is worth a thousand words.

  • Mike // Sep 21, 2007 at 9:51 am

Vegetarians kill animals too. At least the animals that are killed for steaks, pork, etc. are eaten. Combines kill millions of animals every year with the production of crops that are just for vegetables!

  • David // Sep 21, 2007 at 11:52 am

How can we claim killing animals for food is wrong and blithely permit the millions of abortions each year? This is like a Nazi complaining that there is just too much violence in the world

I am a member of P.E.T.A. (People Eating Tasty Animals) and I feel so much better, so much energy ;-)
Hey, I don’t have a problem with vegans, but don’t you ever join those PETA/ELF type organizations and try to convince others that they are being cruel, or promoting cruelty, to animals by being an omnivore. The animals are on this earth, provided by God, for that very reason.

  • Lori // Sep 21, 2007 at 12:37 pm

I found nothing disgusting or inappropriate with the video. I find it interesting that the comments from the ones criticizing vegetarianism are so angry and aggressive. It’s almost as if they have some guilt about what they eat. I think they are missing the point: ANIMAL CRUELTY IN THE FARM INDUSTRY and INHUMANE killing. Ask any worker in a slaughterhouse, or better yet… visit one. For those so ignorant in thinking that PETA fabricated the videos on their site, or that Vegans are less healthy… well it speaks volumes about them. Ignorance and hiding your head under a carpet doesn’t make the truth less true. The truth about the meat & dairy industry is out there if you care enough about what you nourish your body with. Some people still think smoking cigarettes don’t cause cancer or disease. Time will tell and we will just see who lives the longest and who really are healthier. An alternative would be ‘range free eggs’ or ‘natural beef’ without the hormones, antibiotics, etc. with humane killing. I urge people to see the videos on Peta.com. Why be hostile? Be nice.

  • Perri // Sep 21, 2007 at 12:43 pm

  • James // Sep 21, 2007 at 12:48 pm

Vegetarianism is akin to being Gay, it’s a choice. I love that comment RGR HMFIC made though, she’s still hot but yes she’s an attention craving hack from the 90’s desperate to get back in the spotlight and Peta’s nudity thing is all a ploy to get attention. They have admitted this openly, peta is good for just that though. Naked women. They aren’t totally worthless as they are good for seeing breasts and other good stuff like that. It’s all about the food chain too, you don’t see snakes or sharks protesting the eating of humans do you. Death is part of life.

PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals

  • Jake // Sep 21, 2007 at 1:20 pm

I wonder if the PETA fools realize that products and byproducts from animals are used for more than just food? I’d agree that cruelty to animals is sickening (a la Michael Vick), but using animals as not only a resource of food but using every part of the animal to make medicines, cosmetics, clothing and other useful things to society while practicing conservation is being a RESPONSIBLE GUARDIAN AS HUMANS TO ANIMALS.

What the vegans DON’T talk about is how much A** GAS THEY put out on their diet. I work around a couple of vegans and one, they look pasty and weak, and two, they fart constantly. The crud smells like swamp gas. I challeneg ANY vegan to go out into the woods with me and eat a straight vegan diet while I chow down on tasty critters. You’ll be dead in two weeks and I’ll be thriving!

  • Libkiller // Sep 22, 2007 at 1:01 am

    …This is “offensive”?

I’ve seen worse on primetime sitcoms.

  • Ron // Sep 22, 2007 at 3:19 am

Lori - Maybe the aggressive tone is due to facts like the cartoon PETA put out a couple years ago to rural schools across the country proclaiming “YoUR DADDY KILLS ANIMALS” to grade schoolers whose fathers hunt. The paint hunting as a bloodlust for the hunters and ignore so many facts about the effects of overpopulation of deer, that I could write for an hour about them. They say they are here to protect animals, yet there are countless cases of PETA making a good press push by “rescuing” animals - only to have them euthanised a month later in the shadows. PETA is an organization that wants your money MUCH more than it wants to save animals. Their members are rife with inner-conflict, and seek to put their junk into the minds of kids to perpetuate their BS. THAT has MUCH more to do with the angry tone than our “guilt”, as you so eloquently tried to say.

The above was written in response to LORI, who wrote this earlier.

Play your silly games about feeling guilty for killing Bambi, but please don’t call flesh-eaters “immoral”… After the flood, god opened up all meat as a source of food. Dont trust me, READ IT! (And the rest, while you’re at it… Trust No Man! Genesis 9… 1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

that ad was amazing, but I sure would like to take my piece of meat and show her beaver how good it would taste…

  • Omnivore // Sep 22, 2007 at 10:47 am

Humans are not designed to be vegetarians. An unsupplemented diet of only vegetables, fruits and nuts is fatal. The dietary need for meat, or supplements, is small, but it DOES exist. That tells me that eating a diet excluding meat products does not coincide with what nature/God had in mind for us.

  • Omnivore // Sep 22, 2007 at 10:50 am

Oh, by the way, I think she’s too skinny. Needs to eat some meat and potatoes.

  • ChukarCory // Sep 22, 2007 at 2:39 pm

I’m writing in response to the humorless hack “Lori”. What Lori doesn’t understand is that we omnivores (hell, I’m a pretty fully blooded carnivore) are getting SICK and TIRED of the “do as I say, not as I do” models presented by organisations like PETA, ELF, Sierra Club, Green Peace, etc. etc. etc. These organisations are the hypocrites of all time. PETA euthanizes animals all the time, ELF wants to draw attention to enviromental issues by setting fire to a bunch of Hummers (releasing far more dangerous green house gasses then the emmissions from their engines), The Sierra Club was caught dumping their office trash in the ocean, and Green Peace has devolved into a humanity hating group that wants a swift return to the stone age. Lori, you need to lighten up, go put on your favorite Dave Matthews Band CD (try to forget that he dumped his GIANT motorhome sewage tank off a bridge near Chicago, hitting passengers on a passing ferry as well as dumping raw sewage into the rivers ecosystem). Who cares what Alicia Silverstone think? Shes an ACTRESS. Not an expert, nor even really educated.
Eat Meat, Support your local ranchers, farmers, and restaraunts.

By the way, I’m a hunter. I am much closer to my food source then the best meaning Vegetarian. Funny how hunters know more about the enviroment, the wilderness, animal behavior, ecosystems, and nature in general then the tree hugging PETA/Sierra Club acolytes.

  • Justin // Sep 22, 2007 at 7:37 pm

There’s nothing wrong with this add… this is cable tv level skin. Also nothing wrong with supporting vegetarianism, though I personally could never leave steaks, ribs, etc.. mmm… I do have to say though that peta are FRICKIN nutbars. They often go out of their way to be offensive and sensationalistic, so it’s hard to shed a tear for them.

  • Sean // Sep 23, 2007 at 7:42 am

Quick! Someone get Alicia a steak and a milkshake! I think the lack of protein in her diet has made her vulnerable to brainwashing! As for the rest of the Partisans Executing Terrorist Attrocities, maybe you should try hunting. The meat is organic, tastes great, helps control the animal population and is also free of the trappings they associate with the meat industry. I killed an antelope yesterday and am looking forward to eating a juicy steak soon.

  • John // Oct 1, 2007 at 1:06 pm

Hot video. Vegetarians are sexy : )

  • BBQ Pork // Oct 4, 2007 at 9:30 am

All I have to say is this…
If the PETA people want to complain about other people eating meat, let them. At the end of the day I am still going to throw a quarter-ounce on the grill. The funny thing is, these people probably make the meat industry money by provoking people to purchase meat just to spite them.

As one final note about animal killing… I don’t support animal torture. I mean…That shit is pointless. However, for those of you who get all hurt and offended when a cow gets its throat slashed, just remember: in the wild, they are run down and asphyxiated.

  • stephen // Oct 16, 2007 at 12:35 am

everything in moderation: meat (organic, grass-fed for me) and politics (PETA goes too far, right wing wackos go too far) … and I’d rather eat an animal that was running free before it was hacked down via natural selection than one that was bread in a pen, living in its own excriment

  • Tracy // Oct 19, 2007 at 4:25 pm

Why does mostly everyone on here have to be so closed minded? Why can’t everyone just have their own opinion and leave it at that. Like do you really have to give everyone else shit for their choice. You either eat meat or you don’t. Dont be a douche cause you arent like someone else.
