It is a sad day when our own cynicism blinds us from recognizing obvious good – even when it’s larger than life. Michael Jackson was an example of the good in humanity. Our treatment of him is an example of the bad. He gave more than most and helped thousands of people around the world. He was an impeccable gentleman, an amazing talent and a kind and gentle soul. We did not get it right when he was here. But we can get it right now and honor this very deserving fellow human being – and in his death – give him what we should have given him in his life: respect, acceptance, grace, support and gratitude.
