A TV series based on My Little Pony, one of the most popular children’s toy of the 1980s, is in the works. Toy giant Hasbro, which manufactures the figures, is anxious to move forward with the new series following the success of the one-hour special My Little Pony: Twinkle Wish Adventure, which aired on The Disney Channel Nov. 6.

“The runaway success of ‘My Little Pony’ on the Disney Channel affirms our belief in the long-term value of this project,” Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis told The Hollywood Reporter.
