Britney Spears will be making a highly-anticipated ‘comeback’ performance at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards, live from Las Vegas, but the troubled star has been sternly warned by MTV bosses to keep her high-energy hijinx under her hat.

“Britney knows she’s on thin ice. When they agreed to the performance, they sat her down and told her she should not be going out, and instead focus on rehearsing and resting. “She seemed to be thankful and appreciative for the chance, but who knows her? MTV made it clear her usual behavior will not be tolerated,” a spywitness told the New York Daily News.
