Whitney Port is bidding buh-bye to The City.
In an interview with “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” the bubbly fashionista confirmed rampant rumors that her Hills spinoff, The City, has been axed by MTV. Debuting to fan acclaim in Dec. 2008, the docu-soap saw native “California Gurl” Port leaving her hometown of Los Angeles for a new life in The City That Never Sleeps.
Talk about culture shock! Whitney, however, thrived as the latest addition to Diane Furstenberg’s flourishing fashion empire. Once a ratings winner, The City has been the subject of persistent cancellation buzz since production wrapped on Season 2 in July.
“As of right now, it doesn’t really look like we’re doing it anymore,” a soft-spoken but upbeat Whitney explained. “One door closes, another opens,” she added with optimism.
Port is packing up her apartment in NYC and heading home to Los Angeles, the style maven says.
“I really love L.A. My family is here, and I just love the vibe….”
Family and friends aren’t the only things luring Whitney back to the City of Angels. Word is Port’s eager to spend more time with boyfriend of seven months, Ben Nemtin, who lives in Cali.
