MTV Britney Spears MTV Video Music Awards 2007 Statement

MTV has issued a statement in response to Britney Spears’ less than stellar ‘Gimme More’ performance on Sunday night. The network denies claims that it ‘exploited’ the vunerable Spears.

“Britney Spears has had so many memorable, high-energy performances at the VMAs over the years and no one wanted to see her succeed more than her MTV fans and MTV,” the network says.
MTV is also reaching out to ‘Graduation’ star Kanye West after the enraged rapper dissed a scheduled appearance on MTV’s TRL on Tuesday.
