Mrs. Butterworth’s First Name Revealed Oct. 1
Our bologna has a first name, but what about our syrup!?

In an effort to revamp its Mrs. Butterworth’s brand, on Oct. 1, Pinnacle Foods will reveal the first name of the woman who often accompanies our morning platter of pancakes, french toast, and waffles.
Petula sounds fitting, don’t you think?
Ever since Mrs. Butterworth burst onto the syrup scene in 1961, her first name has remained a mystery.
“Mrs. Butterworth has always had a first name, but it’s been passed down over the years to various managers, and none of the adults around here thought to use it until an employee’s son asked what it was,” says Allison Meyer, associate brand manager for syrups at Pinnacle. “She only talks to kids, so it makes sense that a kid would finally be the one to ask what her first name is.”
Inspired by the boy’s question, Pinnacle launced a contest to select Mrs. Butterworth’s first name.
The winning entry will be posted on www.mrsbutterworthsyrup.com, and the winner will receive $500 and a case of Mrs. Butterworth’s Syrup.
