Mr. Blackwell Dead: “Worst Dressed” Critic Mr. Blackwell Dies At 86

Mr. Blackwell, the acid-tongued fashion critic best known for his annual Worst Dressed List, which calls out the biggest fashion disasters of the year to hilarious perfection, has died. He was 86.
Mr. Blackwell died of complications from an intestinal infection in Los Angeles Sunday, the fashion icon’s longtime publicist Harlan Boll said in a statement.
Born Richard Sylvan Selzer, Blackwell was renamed by Howard Hughes in the early 1960′s when he became one of the world’s top designers, creating fashions for numerous celebrities.
Mr. Blackwell is survived by his partner of nearly 60 years, R.L. Spencer.
