Tia and Tamera Mowry say their Style reality soap — the cleverly titled Tia & Tamera — will not be returning for a fourth season on the cable network.
It was Tamera who broke the news to fans on Twitter this week:
“Wanted to say Thank You for all the love and support. But most of all welcoming me, my husband, n my son into your homes for 3 seasons… We are truly blessed:) More than anything I wanted you all to see who I was TRULY as a person and the show Tia and Tamera has done that.”
“Thank you for 3 amazing years of Tia & Tamera. Now… onto my new talk show The Real and some great things I can’t wait to share with u. Yes, Tia & Tamera will not have a season 4. Thank you for always supporting us throughout the years.”
The Mowry twins are best known for starring as Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell — indentical polar opposites separated at birth — on the family comedy Sister, Sister, which ran between 1994-1999.
Tia & Tamera began as Tia & Tamera Take 2, a half-hour special that premiered on The Style Network in 2010. Viewers followed the identical actresses as they embarked on everything “from a disastrous blind-date to a fear-tinged flying lesson to a visit to a Los Angeles tattoo parlor.” The cameras stuck around after rousing support in the ratings, offering fans a bird’s eye view as both twins married and eventually became mothers.
Tia and Tamera, 35, aren’t leaving the spotlight behind all together. Tamera will return to her post on the View-esque daytime gabfest The Real next fall. Tia is looking forward to the second season of her Nickelodeon sitcom Instant Mom.
