Trick or Treat: Get ready to see a lot more of Bernie Madoff.

Masks of the biggest swindler in American history are a top seller this Halloween, several costume web sites and stores have revealed to The New York Times.

Rubie’s Costume Company says it has distributed more than 15,000 of its rubber Madoff masks to stores across the country and expects more sales in the coming weeks. Howard Beige, an executive vice president with Rubies, told The Times “that he thought the Madoff mask would be outsold by those for Michael Jackson and the Super Mario Brothers.”

Earlier this year, Madoff pleaded guilty to masterminding a 30 year Ponzi scheme that cost investors millions of dollars. He is now serving a 150 year prison sentence in a federal correctional facility in Butner, North Carolina.
