Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson was in the house during Sunday’s gabbed-about matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. In case you haven’t heard, that’s when Metta World Peace (the bruisin’ baller formerly known as Ron Artest) slammed his elbow into the back of James Harden’s head, leaving the Thunder guard with a concussion.
Tyler recounted the incident — well, what he saw of it — during an appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Monday.
“It was the most exciting thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Ferguson told Leno, although he later confessed that sports really aren’t his “thing” and he was “in the bathroom” when the melee actually broke out.
“I came back and it was chaos. Everyone was booing. He was being executed or whatever.”
Metta was ejected from the game over the flagrant foul and still faces hefty fines and a suspension by NBA officials. The hoopster has been suspended a whopping 13 times in his career, being forced to ride the bench during more than 100 games.
He was also a central figure in the Detroit Pistons-Indiana Pacers Players vs. Fans brawl in 2004.
