It was a close battle but Miss Wisconsin, Laura Kaeppeler, edged out Miss Oklahoma and Miss New York to snag the title at last night’s Miss America pageant in Las Vegas.
Laura blew the judges away with her talent, a gorgeous Opera that she performed. She didn’t shy away from the tough-hitting questions about politics saying during her interview, “Miss America represents everyone, so I think the message to political candidates is that they represent everyone as well. And so in these economic times, we need to be looking forward to what America needs, and I think Miss America needs to represent all.”
“I was crying even before my name was called,” Kaeppeler said. “It was just surreal to have this honor.” In addition to her public appearances, Miss America also receives a $50,000 scholarship for her efforts last night. Congrats to Miss Wisconsin!
