Pageants are in the news again: A Panamian beauty queen is in the headlines again this week after she was unable to understand a simple quote from Chinese philosopher, Confucius.

Giosue Cozzarelli was competing in the Miss Panama 2009 pageant this month when she was asked to explain the following quote:

“Learning without thought is labor lost.”

That’s when Giosue got a little confused — once again proving that pretty girls are best when seen and not heard.
