Miss California loves Jesus….she just hates the funbags he gave her — so she bought new ones! Actually, The Miss California Organization did.

In an interview with celebrity journalist Billy Bush on Wednesday, Miss USA 1995 Shana Moakler, Co-Executive Director of the Miss California Organization, confirmed that the group paid for Miss California Carrie Prejean’s breast implants just six weeks before she competed in the 2009 Miss USA pageant earlier this month.

“Did you guys pay for it?” Billy asked Shanna.

“Yes,” Shanna replied. “We did.”

Miss California set off a national firestorm when she cited religion as the driving force behind her opposition to the legalization of same sex marriage during the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas two weeks ago.

“It was an option and she wanted it. And we supported that….” Shanna told Billy in a bid to defend the Miss California Organization’s decision to provide financial backing for the breast augmentation.

“Breast implants in pageants is not a rarity. It’s definitely not taboo. It’s very common. Breast implants today among young women today is very common. I don’t personally have them, but you know — they are,” she added.

What is the point here? Breast implants = bad behavior? Christians shouldn’t have plastic surgery? Breast implants should only be allowed in lost girls on the way to hell? The made her look hotter, which helps in the pageant circuit, they tell me. What about the veneers? Are they too straight and white? Are they a racist statement? People need to get a grip on things and quit trying to smear this woman just because she believes marriage should be remain defined the same way it has been for thousands of years in hundreds of cultures.

I’m one of the few bloggers you’ll find who tries desperately not to “smear” or trash celebrities. Nor do I normally inject my personal opinion — and I didn’t do that here. I simply made a statement. She’s a Christian and she got breast implants…that’s the truth of it. In my humble opinion, if Carrie is so gung ho about Jesus, perhaps she should be a little more comfortable with the way GOD made her. That’s my opinion, but I in no way bashed her. Don’t lie on me. Go read my previous posts on this issue and find one where I called this young woman anything other than her name. You won’t, because it never happened. If you think I’m bad, you must not read many blogs. There are some people actually inciting violence against her.

So what was your point again?

You’re retarded — HIPPA is a set of ethical guidelines around patient confidentiality that applies to heal care workers. It has exactly nothing to do with a pageant spokeswoman.

As for other comments above: the fact that this ho is a purported Christian and yet got wired-up with fake funbags is ABSOLUTELY relevant — vanity is a deadly sin per the bible. Of course, this is the same bimbo who paraded around in a bikini so that men could lust over those fake tatas, so she’s already condemned to the underworld.

Above commenter is right. Don’t slag on Castina because she made a valid point. Vanity is not in line with Christian values. Parading around like a show pony is not aligned with Christian values. And while veneers might be something Christians and non Christians alike enjoy and yes, *is* superficial…breasts directly have to do with enhancing your sexual image. Which again, does not align with Christian values.

BUT you did voice what you would believe to be an unbiased ‘non-judging’ opinion, therefore get ready to hear the feedback of your “opinions” as if you were a true journalist. I guess what I am saying is SUCK IT UP if you don’t want to hear if someone were to ACTUALLY have the nerve to disagree with you.
I mean SERIOUSLY- did Miss USA go All ‘Dolly Parton’? No I think not. Did ‘they’ (or as you like to refer them as being funbags) make her look trashy? Did is cause her testimony to stumble? or did she make the choice to do something that made her appear more “Womanly”? SHE ABOVE ALL INCLUDING BEING A CHRISTIAN IS STILL HUMAN!! It MORE than clearly states in the bible that marriage is simply between man and WOMAN, no and’s, if’s, or but’s about it. So she stood for her faith and her beliefs. It was the pathetic person Perez that is offended by suck faith that doesn’t “fit” in to his lifestyle he CHOOSES!

First of all, retard, marriage has not been the same for thousands of years in hundreds of cultures. Please, stop citing Rick Warren rhetoric as scientific fact!! People will think you are STUPID.

Marriage has not even been the same for Biblical cultures. For example, marraige once was a union between one man and one to seven hundred wives, and sanctioned by ‘God’. Later, became more of an economic transaction, sanctioned by the culture of Jesus’ day, without LOVE being a consideration. In American history, we know that marriage was once a union between a white man and a white woman, later a union between a man and a woman of the same race, then simply a man and a woman and now a union between two people. In American history, we had Boston Marriage, and the Catholic Church even sanctioned unions between men up until 1200 AD.

So, dumbass, stop spitting your stupidity online, youre not fooling anyone except yourself.

I think that breast implants of Carrie Prejean, Miss California, has nothing to do with the real issue of integrity with the Miss USA contest officials. The real issue is:

    1) Pageant officials allowed a conflict of interest to exist in the pageant–for a gay man that is a judge to ask a question that is biased, and any subsequent judging by him of Ms. Prejean could not have been judged in an unbiased way.
    2) They have urged Miss California, Carrie Prejean, to apologize… and reiterate something she always has already has clearly stated (”no offense to anyone, but… “).
    3) They want her to mitigate the honest response she gave to gay judge Perez Hilton’s question, and to lessen the impact the truthful answer had on the current political battle in California and connect it to the contest.
    4) She spoke for the People of the State of California with two elections that have taken place in California with proposition 8 last year, and Proposition 22 several years ago.

It is my opinion that Prejean should file suit against the pageant and Miss California officials, and attempt to once and for all shut the mouths of these pompous bullies and slanderous idiots… and strengthen the impact that her answer had on the current political climate against gay marriage!

Wow, what a shock. This a just another confirmation that these “scholarship” pageants are not about brains and talent but about the plastic, “perfect” appearance and conformation. Much like dogs shows, it’s all about the look, regardless of HOW you get it. Maybe they should work on intellectual implants instead… And a Christian? It shows they can be just as shallow as anybody else. I mean “WWJD”? Get a penis enhancement to win, or be in joy about his god given attributes? And politics, maybe she should have just stayed home. Have 10 kids, home school and stay away from those “contaminates” out in the real world. And the tanning booths, teeth bleaches, etc…………. Just grow up America and cancel the show….

It seems to me that most people dont understand what the Miss USA, etc. pageants are really about–femininity. It isnt about having men “lust over your body” or anything. They are asked to show their feminine features in a tasteful way, while, at the same time, showing their caring and compassion (also a feminine idea) for community. Breast implants, especially when not overdone, arent about smut, or the “looky here boys” enhancement of their sexual parts. Its about looking more feminine. Im assuming, by the size of her enhanced chest, that she didnt have much, if any resemblance of breasts before the surgery. She probably didnt feel very feminine, especially for being in the pageant world. Enhancing them slightly doesnt equate to her being a skanky whore.

Im glad she stood up for what she believes despite whether or not someone disagrees w/ her. That is the mark of true character and by that virtue, she deserves the crown.

I’m glad they are counter suing her. She lost her crown for a good reason (No not for her stance on gay marriage… which as appallingly homophobic and frusterating as that is, she has a right to that opinion) and then she SUED for losing it. Get over it, woman! You acted like an incredible jack ass once you got the crown to your “employers” (as a sort) and so they called you on it. Life does have consequences!!! Good time to learn that, I suppose.

As soon as I read the story I thought “holy smokes – that’s got to be a HIPAA violation!”

HIPAA has got some real teeth to it, both civilly and criminally. The civil penalties are small but can be stacked if there are multiple violations with respect to a single individual. The maximum civil penalties are $25,000 per year, per person, per standard. Criminal penalties (up to a $250,000 fine and ten years in prison) may be imposed for “knowingly and improperly” disclosing information …. with higher penalties reserved for violations designed for financial gain or “malicious harm”. State court would likely allow a spring-board suit for torts such as invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional distress, among other causes of action.

The pageant officals said “she allowed us to discose the information on her surgery when she stepped out onto the runway in a swimsuit”. OOOPS! Sorry! The HIPAA law says that anyone with knowledge like this has to obtain WRITTEN PERMISSION specific for such a disclosure. I guess the real question is – did she sign anything that gave the Miss USA pagent the ability to specifically disclose private medical information. A blanket disclosure just won’t cut it.

Do you really want an authentic biblical version of marriage. The definition of marriage has changed considerably since biblical times. In biblical times the bride or brides became the property of the groom. It was not one man and one woman. A man could have as many wives, sheep or cattle as he could take care of. Times have changed but people continue to speak for God. The Word is twisted and ignored to conform to the personal views of the high and mighty. That just doesn’t seem right.

Yes the young lady is intitled to her opinion but when she cherry picks biblical words to fit her own agenda she should be called on it. If you look at current divorce rates marriage is not an effective promise to God. It does serve as an effective legal document. But if you went by the biblical version of the bible a woman wouldn’t be allowed to own property. Marriage has changed and rightfully so I believe it is hypocritical to quietly except or demand the changes afforded women and stick to a hard line interpolation regarding others. How would her participation in the pageant be viewed by those who put the Word to paper. I don’t agree with a hard line interpretation of the bible but I can respect those who pick a side and stick to it. If you choose to stand on a soap box quote scripture that suits you and ignore that witch does not fit your own desires you will be called out on it.

At any rate if you are assigning a weight to a word you are placing a personal value to a word not a literal translation. You also used the phrase “have no concept of the Bible”. Concept is defined as “something conceived in the mind ” Unless I am misunderstanding your statement you are absolutely right. I would never be so presumptions as to place my own concepts and weigh Gods word. I would think the concepts and weights would be Gods own.

What do you think?
