Mischa Barton most recent film project, Assassination of a High School President, will not be released.

Although Asassination was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, the dark comedy failed to secure a distribution deal that would have sent it into wide release.

“It seems the whole of the film industry has a problem with money at the moment and we’ve been affected by it,” the disappointed former OC star confessed to reporters at an H&M-hosted party in London last week.

But it’s not all bad news for Mischa’s, the British-born star will debut as a fashion model on the Ashton Kutcher-produced drama A Beautiful Life, premiering on The CW this fall.

I like dark comedies. Stupid Hollywood cheapskates.

The reason the film didn’t release is because the distributor, “Yari Film Group Releasing”, went bankrupt.
