Dimple-cheeked catwalker Miranda Kerr is setting the record straight on her recent exit from the Victoria’s Secret fold. Yep, the Australian model is hanging up her Angel wings. But she says, despite what you’ve heard, her career change has nothing to do with her rumored rep for being a petulant diva on set.
Kerr’s hitting back at reports that she was “standoffish” with the brand’s other models, including Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio. Miranda told The Sydney Morning Herald:
“I’m sure anyone that has worked with me would agree that it’s not true.”
Instead, Kerr called her VS exit “a natural evolution.” After all, she’s now a mom to son Flynn, 2, and wife to actor Orlando Bloom.
“The thing is, I’ve been modeling since I was 13. I’m now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realized I needed to prioritize my time. It’s really important I give 100 percent to my clients and I have to be careful to make strategic long-term decisions with my personal and business interests.”
“I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m developing my own opportunities that are really reflective of my passions. I’m just not in a position to commit to a full contract at this time. It’s three months at a bare minimum.”
Miranda is looking forward to celebrating her 30th birthday on Saturday. She and Orlando will soon be moving their family to New York full-time, where he will star in the Broadway adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.
