Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia and former American Idol Kellie Pickler were plucked from the throngs of drop-dead gorgeous male and female celebrities with animal-friendly vegetarian lifestyles to be tapped this year’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities by supporters of animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Pickler originally stopped eating animals last year for health reasons. Then she found our videos online, and the rest is history. A reformed rare-steak lover, the American Idol alum told People Magazine, “One night I couldn’t sleep and I was up just Googling random stuff and I’m like, ‘Hmmm, PETA.’ I saw all the videos and I just thought it was horrible. It’s animal cruelty. A lot of it has to do with knowing what happens to the animals and it really bothered me and so I will not eat meat.”

Long before he began causing hearts to pound as Peter Petrelli on Heroes, Ventimiglia was turning heads with his portrayals of dark and brooding bad boys on shows like Gilmore Girls and American Dreams and in Fergie’s steamy “Big Girls Don’t Cry” video. A lifelong vegetarian, Ventimiglia recently stated that he was even “vegetarian in the womb,” and he’s living proof that you can grow up healthy, happy, and hot without consuming flesh.
