Miley Cyrus Stiffs On Tip At Outback Steakhouse

6

Miley Cyrus has a thing or two to learn about tippping. The Hannah Montana star — who clocked $25 million last year — got $70 worth of steak and mac and cheese for herself and sister Brandi at the Outback Steakhouse in Burbank last Sunday only to leave without dropping a tip. A spywitness tells The NY Daily News that Miley pulled of an envelope of $100 bills, “but she kept all the change.”

But a Cyrus spokeswoman has shrugged off the encounter, simply saying, “She didn’t know she was supposed to tip unless she was eating inside.”

Nobody tips for take-out so why should a celebrity? Tipping is optional all of the time anyways. And if a customer chooses not to tip, the restaurant chain should not be turning it into a news story and going public with the customer's name. That is low and for that reason I will not be eating or buying food at Outback Steakhouse in the future. Who needs kangaroo food anyways.

    Is it still "silly season"?

Sure, if you're a millionaire, I think you should have the decency to leave the change, but why should the staff be "outraged" just because she doesn't? Is there a law that giving tips is compulsory then?

Us Europeans think the whole matter is absurd. Restaurant bills here sometimes include an 10% service charge (which is optional, but almost everyone will pay it), and if there isn't one, then you're not expected to pay a tip anyway.

Actually, to-go girls make the same amount a server does, where I live it is $3 an hour. Now would you run around in the rain, cold or extreme heat for $3 an hour? I don't think so. It is acceptable to tip anyone who does a service for you. If you can't afford to tip, go to Mcdonalds where you belong!

My Dad was telling me about this and I laughed . I agree that she should leave a tip , but 99% of people would not, most people don't think about it. I don't think its a big deal , just a reason to tare down a celebrity. She wasn't being rude , most people don't think your suppose to tip if you pick up your food to go, common mistake.

Nobody tips for takeout. There’s no service, no reason to tip.

I agree, I wouldn’t tip for carry out. The comment about making $3.00 an hour is not quite correct. Most places have started paying the minimum wage because it to complicated to figure out how much to pay the worker. Let say a work only made $3.00 for an hour with no tip, the work place would still have to pay her/him $4.25 for that hour. To make it a total of $7.25. If the worker made $10.00 in tip, all the work place would have to pay for that hour is $3.00.

What do you think?
