If your family wished to be able to have privacy so that you could misbehave outside of the public eye, you all should not have tried so hard and deliberately to become celebrities.

As far as your cousin is concerned, I don’t care if she is just having fun if that fun means that she is going to act like a little spolied racist brat. Whether you like it or not, as a celebrity she causes a lot of harm when she acts like a little spoiled racist pig, drunk or not.

Your little cousin should have thought about what she was doing before she “let it out” that she is a racially insensitive little rich girl.

She is having some fun? Making fun of other ethnicities is simply a matter of having some fun?

Please. She might as well have augmented her photo with a video of herself saying “Ching chong, ling long ting tong”

Your cousin acted like a little spoiled racist brat – if she didn’t want to be called out for being a spoiled racist brat she should not have partied so hard with her group of idiot friends and posed for such an inflammatory photo.

To hell with what your family of celebrities has been through – if your family puts a premium on privacy and wanted private lives in which to wallow in your own crapulence you all should not have endevored to become celebrities – and I use the term very loosely given that she is less relevant today than she was yesterday and will become even less relevant as the years go by.

Firstly, I am asian and my eyes are not slanty. So when people do the slanty eye thing at me they are not pointing out something that is true about me, but instead they are demonstrating to me a level of disdain and disrespect by making fun of their perception of a ethnic difference in appearance.

Secondly, where do your get the impression that Miley was just pointing out something that was “true” by making this racist gesture?

Thirdly, if you don’t get offended when people are racist towards you by calling you “Casper” because you are white, this does not automatically make the act ok or non-racist. It is, by definition, racially based.

Are african-americans who take offense when white people appear in blackface wrong, or are those appearing in blackface merely pointing out a racial difference?

You have quite a nerve to call people “crybabies” who take offense at having their ethnicity made fun of – you should seriously rethink your patently ignorant position.

I mean’t “Just because people called you Casper because you’re white is not an excuse considering not all white people were teased with that name.”

I don’t think people really mean she’s racist, but it doesn’t make sense to make that gesture (especially since she’s a celebrity) when the only friend in the photo is asian and not making that gesture. If this was her just being goofy (like what she said) I can understand that since she was only 16 or 17 or whatever, but still, why would you make that gesture when so many asians were made fun of the same way? Just because people called you casper because you’re white doesn’t excuse the fact all white people were called casper. Just about every Asian American would probably tell you they’ve been teased with slant eye gesture, so in a way yeah, it’s pretty offensive, (although Spain’s basketball team was much worse).

P.S. I’m not really asian. I’m white.

If anything, that asian kid just looks stoned. He is not holding his hands to his face and pushing or stretching his eyes to make them look wide. To be honest, they don’t look wide at all.

Contrast this with the overt and obvious actions of the others in the photo where they are conciously aping the features of an asian.

Again, just because you are asian and not offended by the photo does not make the photo acceptable.
