Teenage millionaire Miley Cyrus has stunned fans by refusing to spare a few coins for a homeless panhandler.

Miley was confronted by a beggar as she headed to London’s Nobu restaurant after the UK of her Hannah Montana: The Movie this week, according to one British tabloid report.

“….She refused to lighten its load by parting with cash for the poor chap outside, who politely asked for some change, Britain’s Star writes. “She made the schoolgirl error of missing the charitable photo opportunity that a gaggle of stars have taken advantage of with the infamous beggar.

The unleashing of Miley’s inner mean girl has left a sour taste in the mouth of the 16-year-old legion of young fans.

One admirer wrote on her unofficial fansite Mileyfans.net: “That was so nasty. Why’d she do that? She just ignored him.”

“It was a real eye-opener to see her treating that poor homeless man so badly,” another Miley fanatic said.

Let’s be honest, in the long run, what would giving some money to that beggar really have accomplished? Maybe some paparazzi would have taken some pictures of her giving spare change to a homeless person, and that’s good P.R. but, afterwards, then what? The man would still be homeless. Still begging other people for money (which, for all we know, he might be using to buy drugs or alcohol). So what good is it, really?

I also agree that giving money, isnt what the homless need. They need to get sober, quit betting, quit being lazy, get help, learn something, and/or get a job. Depends on the person. Many reasons people wind up being homeless. And handing money out doesn’t do any good in most cases. And it’ s true that a lot don’t beg; new ones don’t beg, old ones do because they realize pride doesn’t get you fed.

On the other hand, does she give to a charity? Is she apart of a group that gives to others? If so, and most celebs do, she is fulfilling her “duty” as a rich to take care of the poor.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think she has bigger issues she needs to address at this time. She’s still young and will make mistakes, but she’s becoming a woman. She now needs to learn how to be a woman, and a wise one more than she needs to shell out her hard earned money. And it’s quite clear she has a lot to learn.
