Michelle Williams was slated to appear on the April 2008 cover of Elle Magazine as part of the promotional blitz for her new film, “Shutter Island,” but has requested that the cover be removed in the wake of the death of her ex-fiance, Heath Ledger. Michelle’s Elle cover has been replaced by Natalie Portman.

Thanks, but actually “Shutter Island” is the film that was being produced in Sweden when Michelle received news of Ledger’s death. So, it’s very likely that it is the film she would have been promoting. Futhermore, the point of the post is that she pulled out of the Elle cover deal, not what movie she’ll be doing next. Doesn’t really matter why she was on the cover in the first place.
