Michelle Obama PEOPLE Magazine Interview: “Our Life In The White House”

First Lady Michelle Obama gives PEOPLE the full scoop on her marriage to President Obama, the hunt for the First Dog, and adapting to life at America’s most famous address.
On Marriage To Barack Obama: “We haven’t had that time together for [years], so that explains a lot why we all feel so good in this space. I don’t want anybody to think it’s that easy. It works because we really work at it. … We have a strong marriage, but it’s not perfect.”
Michelle wants the American public to know that our new First Dog will soon join the family at The White House. The Obamas have settled on a rescue Portuguese Water Dog, which they will welcome after a family spring break vacation in April. For now, the only thing still up in the air is the name.
“Oh, the names are really bad. You listen and you go – like, I think, Frank was one of them. Frank! Moose was another one of them. Moose. I said, well, what if the dog isn’t a moose? Moose. I’m like, no, come on, let’s work with the names a little bit.”
